The insurance bill and the BAI: Going for the kill

The insurance (amendment) bill was voted in by the government yesterday with most of the opposition abstaining from the vote. This bill, prepared on Friday and rushed through parliament on Tuesday has been lauded by the government as a means to fix the law but slammed by the opposition as attempting to sidestep the court and get rid of BAI’s control over 62 of its related companies. Where does the truth lie?
