Shards of the past

Dhishna Radhay.
À l’heure du tout à l’image et du buzz sans suite, «l’express» souhaite faire découvrir la plume de poètes, de chanteurs, d’écrivains et de tous ceux qui jettent leur âme sur le papier, et qui mettent en mots des réflexions profondes.
It hurts so much that it won’t hurt anymore...
The tears wouldn’t stop running down my cheeks, the
saltiness adding fuel to my wounds – the blows that I
had received minutes back. If only I could stop the tears
from flowing. Alas! The heart-bleed was too harsh this
time. Things had gone too far this time. Why?
I had been burnt by the iron in his hand, right under
my jawline. At first, I could not feel it coming, nor could
I feel the pain. But seconds after, I felt the heat under
my right cheek and for a moment, I thought I was in an
oven. The reason for lashing out? I had not given him
what he wanted. I had not ironed his shirt.
