of my alluring eyes?

They will leave a lingering shimmer

Across yours with a single glance.

You will see your soul through my orbs!

Are you afraid

of my sultry lips?

They will paint poetry

On the canvas of your skin.

At the first touch, fire will ignite within your

bones!

Are you afraid

of my velvety hair?

Will you tuck them behind my ears

As my waves flow freely down my slender neck?

When I flip them, only then shall

you see my glow!

Are you afraid

of the span of my hips?

They will scream confidence

Making you question yours.

The sway of them, taking your breath away!

Are you afraid

of the firmness of my steps?

They will make you fall down on your knees

And swarm around me like a bee

around a flower.

Step up or I will step out!

Vidushi Haulooman

Currently enrolled in a BA (Hons) English Studies at the University of Mauritius, she is looking forward to kick-starting her career as a young poet by publishing her first book, “Afflatus” on the 22nd of June. Living in an environment where her brothers and cousins are science enthusiasts pursuing careers in engineering and computing, she was on the verge of following them when the arts and literature won over her heart.
