That was the theme chosen by the Association of Human Resource Professionals of Mauritius (AHPM) this year as revealed during the launch of its yearly magazine on Wednesday 14th December by vice-President of the Republic Eddy Boissézon.

Addressing the guests, Areff Salauroo, president of the AHPM, stated that “the rationale behind this chosen topic is that the recent two years have contributed to bring business leaders to realise the importance and significance of human lives”. He added that “Japan has been exemplary in attaching more importance to people historically, that is why they have a greater sense of community and they have a deeper understanding of the value of community”.

Areff Salauroo called on all HR professionals “to share experiences, to support each other in addressing obstacles, to assist each other in ensuring Business Continuity, to contribute in the creation of national wealth, creation and maintenance of employment, championing better work and better working lives, and also enriching working experience, redesigning jobs, create great work environment and elicit commitment”.

Vice-President Boissézon commended the pivotal role the association has been playing in building a community of all those working in a people management function. He assured them of his support in the laudable work they are doing.
