Plumes engagées
Half full plate eyes and empty
Javisth Bhugobaun.
À l’heure du tout à l’image et du buzz sans suite, «l’express» souhaite faire découvrir la plume de poètes, de chanteurs, d’écrivains et de tous ceux qui jettent leur âme sur le papier, et qui mettent en mots des réflexions profondes.
My dad woke up before dawn,
Washed his face before the dew dried up,
Blew the steam off his tea before the mist vanished,
Went to work before the bird sang,
With a tired look.
At noon, he came back sweaty for lunch.
His face burned like the old kettle from the sun.
He held his spoon with his sandpaper hand and ate.
He ate little, drank some soda from a dented mug.
His eyes were always empty and his plate half full.
I never knew why he ate so little.
Today, I wake up before the sun, like he used to.
I wash my face and smoke with the mist
And go to work humming before the birds sing...
With a tired look.
At noon, I come back for lunch.
My face bruised like old rocks
And hands as soft as gravel.
My stomach is full with fatigue,
So I eat only a little and left my plate half full
With empty eyes.
