Prayer to Lord Ganesha

À l’heure du tout à l’image et du buzz sans suite, «l’express» souhaite faire découvrir la plume de poètes, de chanteurs, d’écrivains et de tous ceux qui jettent leur âme sur le papier, et qui mettent en mots des réflexions profondes.
Son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati,
Cast in beauteous form to please devotees,
Lord Ganesha, fondly called as Ganapati,
You are the symbol of true divinity.
We worship you at the very outset
Of one and every auspicious occasion
That your blessings any hurdle may avert
And you may ward off any delusion.
The true source of immaculate knowledge,
Do shower your blessings on one and all
And kindly accept our humble homage
That we may embrace the path to our true goal.
Lord of spiritual enlightenment,
May your divine sparks enlighten every mind
That man may lead his life without torment,
And every man may his true spirit find.
Beloved Lord, hallmark of intelligence
And a higher mind to duly discern
The rightful sense and essence,
Set us free from futile daily concerns.
Graceful Lord, symbol of the soul,
The ultimate reality of man,
Guide our path to the Supreme Soul,
Master of all and of the Divine Land.
Merciful remover of obstacles,
We bow to you with all our heart and soul
To render our daily life`s battles
Fee from hurdles that we may reach our goals.
Lovely Lord, harbouring one broken tusk,
Emblem of righteousness and modesty,
Do inspire us with wisdom as a must
And bless us with ample humility.
Joyful Lord graced with an elephant’s head,
We seek your mercy to teach every man
To gauge not by external sight, but instead
To scan the inner self as a friend.
Cheerful Lord with an elephant’s ears,
We humbly to you offer our prayers
To dispel from your devotees all fears,
And shield them from negative thoughts and tears.
Lord of all diverse forms of energy
We beseech your compassion and your grace
To create the propitious synergy
And do harness it for the human race.
Rightful bestower of prosperity
We do beseech your magnanimity
To endow the universe with plenty
That no creature may face scarcity.
